Which balance hanger do I need?Fox Balance Hanger (P-09)
This is the standard balance hanger. It is quite easy for a technician to install this on a Fox bassoon,
it may need some modification to fit other bassoons. Once installed it is durable and easy to use. This is the best
one if you are sure you want to use a balance hanger.
Forrests Bassoon Balance Hanger (P-37)
The Forrests balance hanger needs no installation and will fit most bassoons. This is the best to use if you
are not sure you want to use a balance hanger, and would like to try one.
Fox Bassoon Balance Hanger
This attachment enables the player to move the connecting point of the neck strap upwards from the strap ring, thus improving the balance of the instrument while playing in the standing position. It also distances the instrument a bit farther away from the player's body. Recommended for solo performances and with the "NeckSaver" neck strap.
Requires installation by a competent technician; a small hole must be drilled into the top end of the boot joint to receive the metal bushing.
If you have a Fox bassoon with the newer style neck strap ring (the ring in mounted with 4 screws), we recommend you also purchase the P-33 neck strap ring. This will be a better, more stable installation.
