Albion Silver Label Bassoon Reed
A professional bassoon reed finished using a parallel scrape. This style was pioneered by Leonard Skinner and is characterized by a consistent cane thickness through most of the reed blade and a thinner tip.
This reed is sealed with cyanoacrylate glue (superglue). It requires no further sealing or wrapping. Tips and suggestions for adjustment of this reed are included. Order 3 or more for $17.10 each! The shopping cart will calculate the discount.

Légère Bassoon Reed
Légère bassoon reeds are cut from a unique polypropylene polymer on 3-axis, computer controlled precision cutting machines. The reeds are cut in halves using customized profiles which are based on a mathematical description of a reed profile rather than a model or prototype. The halves are then bonded together using a digitally controlled system. The result is a reed which is perfectly balanced in both blades, and has just the right combination of tip thickness, heart, and flexibility. Légère bassoon reeds are great, but they have a tendency to come off the bocal at inopportune times. We have the solution with our exclusive reed grip. Just secure the reed in the grip with the finger screw, then slide on to the bocal. The bocal fits into the reed socket as normal and the O-ring in the grip holds it securely on the bocal.
At the risk of pointing out the obvious, this only fits on Légère bassoon reeds.

These reeds offer a great response with a rich tone and are sealed with hot glue to ensure a superior seal. The color of each reed's hot glue may vary.

These blanks are ready to be made into finished reeds. They are made from Rigotti cane on a Rieger 1A shaper, wrapped with FF nylon thread and sealed with Duco glue. The tubes are sealed underneath the thread and glue with beeswax. It is recommended to clip the tip 27-28mm from the collar for best results. Order 3 or more for $14.39 each!
