Designed through years of testing and feedback, this reed was made to reflect the playing preferences of a wide range of oboists. It offers a stable, consistent experience that many players find useful for both practice and performance. While it may not match every handmade setup, it has impressed a majority of testers with its reliability, tone, and ease of play.
This is a synthetic reed with an American-style long scrape. It requires no soaking and is ready to play straight from the box.

Légère oboe reeds are cut from a unique polypropylene polymer on 3-axis, computer controlled precision cutting machines. The reeds are cut in halves using customized profiles which are based on a mathematical description of a reed profile rather than a model or prototype. The halves are then bonded together using a digitally controlled system. The result is a reed which is perfectly balanced in both blades, and has just the right combination of tip thickness, heart, and flexibility. No soaking is needed and they are not subject to changes in weather or humidity. With proper care, this reed should provide many hours of playing (some people report months!).
