We have a Lange contrabassoon from the early 1900s available for $37,000! It's a wonderful Heckel like instrument, used for many years in the L.A. studios and heard on some famous movie sound tracks.
Our understanding is that Lange worked at Heckel, then started making instruments under his own name. A lawsuit ensued and he stopped making instruments.

Our own tool kit contains all the tools and supplies needed for that first reed making lesson: a knife with blade protector, a D-04 mandrel, a F-02 cutting block, a G-09 plaque, a ruler with metric and English scales, and a C-03 fine grit sharpening stone. Also included are a few pieces of cane, a couple of staples, a strip of goldbeater's skin, some bee's wax and, of course, a spool of thread. All this comes conveniently stored in our V-73 tool bag.

To make reeds you will also need some supplies: Cane (we recommend Rigotti Gouged Shaped and Profilied Bassoon Cane), Thread (we recommend our G-20 Thread), and Duco Cement(Duco Cement)
Specially designed in Forrests' shop, this oboe peg with base is angled 5° to encourage water to drain down the back of the instrument and away from the tone holes. The peg is solid hardwood, the base is approximately 8" in diameter.
The peg detaches and clips to the base for easy storage in Lorée and many other oboe case cover pockets. Total weight is just 4.4oz.
This case features BAM's patented process of laminating ABS, Airex Foam and Carbon Fiber type of ABS into a 10 mm sandwich of ultimate protection from shock and temperature. This memory foam suspension system suspends the bassoon at the ends of the joints and conforms to the exact shape of each instrument, cradling the instrument so there is no pressure on any of the keys.
