School year lease plans

Pay for the school year up front to earn a considerable discount. Start leasing a Yamaha® wind instrument between August 16th and September 15th to save 35% of a school year's rental cost.

Lease rates below are for an August 16th start; sales tax is additional. The lease rate is the lease length times the rent rate, and lease length varies from 4 to 8.5 months depending on start date.

Purchase discount

There is no option to purchase the rented instrument. However, up to 20% additional discount may be earned off the already discounted cash price of a new instrument of the same type from Forrests. The discount increases by 2% for every month's rental paid, up to a maximum of 20%.

Lease terms

The full lease amount plus tax is due at the beginning of the lease. Leasing offers substantial savings, but there is no refund for early return, for any reason, once the instrument has left the store. The lease payment and “Summer Special” are applicable towards purchase; at the end of the lease the instrument must be returned in good condition or purchased and paid for in full.

Month to month rentals

There is a three month minimum rental period. The initial payment of one month's rent is due at the beginning of the rental; subsequent monthly payments are charged to a credit card on the contract date. If an instrument is returned before the minimum period, a charge is made to fulfil it. A partial month is charged as a full month, without proration.

Rental and lease accounts

Credit must be established for every rent or lease account, even if you have rented from Forrests before. A credit report is obtained for all rent and lease customers. You will complete a Renter's Questionnaire and provide a California Driver's License with photo (or DMV-ID) showing your current address, plus a credit card in the same name — Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. A photocopy is made of your license.

Shipping and maintenance

Shipping charges are additional. Shipment is by Second Day Air and the rented instrument must be returned the same way. If a return is delayed because it was sent by a slower class of service, an additional rental charge may be incurred. Forrests allows two days of free rental time each way to facilitate shipping.

Normal maintenance is included in the rent or lease price. Loaner instruments are not available, and rental charges continue while an instrument is in the shop.
