Woodwind Repair with a Double Reed Focus

Double reed instruments present unique mechanical and acoustical challenges that require specialized knowledge. With more than 100 years of collective experience at the bench, Forrests' technicians have dedicated their careers to the repair and maintenance of double reed and woodwind instruments, providing the level of specialized care these instruments require—from routine adjustments to complete overhauls.

Scheduling a Repair

Repairs are available by appointment only. Appointments are available Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM PT.

  • We'll connect you with the appropriate technician and schedule a time.

Booking Ahead

Our technicians often book several months in advance, so we recommend scheduling routine maintenance 2–3 months ahead whenever possible.

Some minor repairs may be accommodated on Saturdays depending on technician availability. Please call ahead to inquire.

Repair Decisions

Occasionally, an instrument's condition or a requested repair may involve significant tradeoffs or unavoidable risks. When that happens, your technician will explain the options and any potential consequences before work begins so you can make an informed decision. If you choose to proceed with a repair after those risks have been discussed, Forrests cannot be responsible for outcomes resulting from those known risks.
