Finding Products
We have over 1200 products on our site, so making it as easy as possible to find what you are looking for is one of our top priorities.  There are 4 easy ways to find what you want:
1) Click on any of the subjects shown at left to open the various sub-headings.  These links will lead you to the correct page.
2) Click on the "Table of Contents" link on the left side of the page. This will take you to a list of product categories, much like a table of contents in a printed catalog.
3) Enter a keyword (i.e. "reed")  into the search box.  This will find all the items which match that keyword.
4) If you know the catalog number, from a previous order, enter it into the search box.  This will find just that item.

Purchasing
To purchase, just click on , which will put the item in your shopping cart.  There you can review your order, change the quantities, return to continue shopping, or complete your order.  What could be easier?

Delivery Time
Because we keep a large stock of merchandise on hand, we ship most orders (excluding instruments) in 1 or 2 business days. Delivery time depends on the shipping type you select, please click here for details.

Sales Tax
We are required to collect sales tax on all purchases, as well as shipping and handling, on orders shipped within California.
Orders shipped outside of California are not subject to sales tax.

Ordering by Mail
We are happy to fill orders recieved by mail or fax also. Please see the "How to Pay" page for details.

Satisfaction Guaranteed
All items may be returned within 30 days of invoice date with the exception of used reeds, special order items and instruments after the trial period. Instruments sold on "special-order" terms are not returnable. Please examine all items promptly upon receipt. No adjustments can be made after 30 days of receipt of merchandise.

Returns
When returning items, please include a copy of the invoice for proper credit. If we made an error in filling the order, we will re-fill the order at no additional shipping charge and compensate you for the return postage/shipping - but not more than the original shipping charge. (This does not apply when the order exceeded $125.00 and was shipped free.)

Privacy

We are all concerned about protecting our security and privacy when using the Internet. At Forrests Music we will always treat your personal information with the utmost care and respect.

The information we collect automatically
Like most web sites, some information is automatically received and collected in our log files when you visit us. We log the IP (Internet protocol) address of the computer you are using, the operating system and browser you are using, the date and time you accessed the site, and the address of the web site from which you linked to our site (The "Referer" (sic) HTTP request header). This information is used to monitor usage..
If you use our search function we also log what you searched for, and the results. We use this information to tailor the search function, and to identify products we should add to our selection.

The information you provide us
If you choose to purchase something, we ask you to supply the minimum amount of information needed to safely and conveniently complete your transaction. This includes:

Name (shipping & billing)
Address (shipping & billing)
Telephone number (in case we need to contact you about your order) 
E-mail address (so that we can confirm your order) 
Credit card number
Credit card expiration date

Cookies
Cookies are required for the shopping cart and search software to properly function. If you choose to turn off cookies in your browser you can browse our site, but the search and the shopping cart will not work.
We do not use "Third Party" cookies (cookies which originate on, or are sent to, a different Website).

Javascript
Javascript is used in the shopping cart for form submission and validation. You are welcome to use our site without using Javascript, but the function of the shopping cart will be odd at best.

Security of the information we collect
All critical information (credit card number & expiration date) is encrypted when stored and transmitted.  Transmission over the Internet uses a secure socket layer connection (SSL). This information is also encrypted when stored and transmitted over our local area network (LAN). Our web site is well protected, as is our LAN. In the extremely unlikely event someone gained access, they would only see encrypted credit card data.

Privacy
We do not sell your information. We do put your name on our mailing list, which we use when mailing our print catalog. If you would prefer we not send you anything, just let us know and we will not send you anything in the future. It is in our best interests to not spend money sending out catalogs which are just irritating the customer! Just e-mail us at sales@forrestsmusic.com and ask us to take you off our mailing list and we will be happy to do so.

We will not solicit you by telephone.

E Mail
We never email you about 'updating' your account, 'members support', etc. These e-mails are created by viri and/or worms and are not in any way connected to Forrests Music.
If you are concerned about an email claiming to come from Forrests, look at the email headers. Legitimate email from Forrests Music will have originated from one of our mail servers, forrestsmusic.com or mail.forrestsmusic.com
