Kooiman Thumb Rest
These adjustable thumb rests move the instrument's weight closer to the hand for less strain on the thumb.
The Etude model adjusts up and down the instrument, and the thumb hook adjusts in relationship to the thumb rest. Made of plastic and installs using the original screw holes on most oboes, English horns & clarinets. Click here for installation instructions.

The Maestro model adjusts every way you could imagine: The thumb plate moves up, down, and around the instrument, the thumb support arm has 2 ball joints and 1 swivel for maximum adjustment. Made of anodized aluminum and steel, installation by a repair technician may be required.

F. Lorée Oboe Thumb Rest
This is the standard thumb rest with ring that Lorée has used for years.

F. Lorée Adjustable Thumb Rest
Offers greater flexibility of position for the right hand. Requires installation: It replaces the F. Lorée standard thumb rest without drilling new screw holes. If desired, move to any other position and drill 2 new screw holes.
Available for oboe & english horn.

F. Lorée Dutch Thumb Rest
A wider thumb rest with a separate flat body plate which adds additional thickness to the grip on the oboe, resulting in a more open hand position. The thumb rest installs on Lorée oboes using the same screw holes as the original. The thumb plate requires drilling and tapping 2 new holes for permanent installation, or it can be attached with double sided tape. In any event, put the plate on with double sided tape first so that you can experiment to find the most comfortable location, then install it with the screws if you wish to.
Available for oboe & english horn.

Fhred Supports

Oboe/E. Horn support. FHRED Studio Model. This clever device is an adjustable support peg which attaches to the thumb rest, and rests on your chair seat. It requires a thumb rest with strap ring. We can supply an adapter to use with Loreé adjustable thumb rests, and a Fox thumb rest with ring to replace your thumb rest if it does not have a ring. To play while standing, use the optional SAMI adaptor, which fastens to your belt. The short unit adjusts from 6½" to 12" and weighs just 1oz. The long unit adjusts from 10" to 17", and weighs just 1.2oz.

Neck Straps

The "NeckSaver" Neck Strap . Albion. Designed to reduce neck and shoulder stress by distributing the weight of the instrument over a greater body-contact area. The large, tailored neck pad is made of resilient, closed cell neoprene sponge, such as is used in scuba wet suits. The metal hook fits all wind instruments.
We have added a two-point strap adjustment to permit adjusting the length of the nylon straps without losing proper balance of the instrument. This new feature makes the NeckSaver equally suitable for every woodwind instrument. Concert black color.

Elastic Neck Strap. Helps maintain good playing posture. Attaches to thumb rest with a leather thumb pad or its metal hook when the thumb rest has a ring.

English Horn Floor Peg

Forrests English Horn Bell Support Peg
Relieve the stress on your wrists, arms and shoulders. By shifting the weight of the instrument from extended arms to the floor peg, English horn players can reduce muscle strain and fatigue.
The slip on collar fits contemporary (post B series) F. Lorée instruments.

Peg Extension. Albion. A 12" long spacer to be installed between the T-02 English horn peg and the T-06 peg base, in order to raise the height of the English horn on its stand. This avoids having to retract the floor peg each time you place the instrument on the stand. Has M5 metric threads. Note: this item will work only with the new, metric version of T-02 E/horn pegs and T-06 peg bases, sold by us since Summer 1998. If you have an older peg base and pegs with ¼" - 20 threads, do not order this item, but see below.

Peg Extension. Albion. This version fits older T-02 E/horn pegs and those peg bases sold by us prior to Summer 1998 (with 1/4" - 20 threads). If you are now purchasing a T-06 peg base, please order the matching metric version above.
